Trust is a huge part of any relationship, especially when building a long-term relationship. In a work relationship, trust is a greater determinant of success than anything else. Without trust, a relationship has no chance to move forward and continue to building a valuable relationship.

2. Ongoing Relationship.
Whether you're trying to build a relationship with a friend, a client, or even a journalist, it's important to keep the relationship going. Once you've gained a new client, and have offered your services to them, it's important to keep in contact with that contact. Keep the lines of communication open, and you'll be building long-term relationships in no time.

3. Benefit from Harsh Feedback.
Receiving criticism is never easy, whether it be about your work, or the way you behave. Try some recovery techniques, like taking a deep breath, give yourself time, and look at the issue from their perspective. Maintain your initial reaction to a short, sweet, and in-control response. Not only will you be able to improve yourself, but this will also show your contact that you are trying to create a more positive change in maintaining your relationships.
