Feature Update: Performance Tracking On Scalemail and Programs


Massive Upgrades to Contactually's Email Performance Tracking

We've been releasing updates over the past few weeks related to our latest product feature, Insights. For quite some time, we've heard how beneficial it'd be to you if we allowed tracking on ScaleMail and Programs.

Today, we are excited to announce that we've built a new tracking feature for ScaleMail and Programs that allow you to gauge your effectiveness with email communications.

First and foremost, thank you for all of the feedback you've provided and please continue to provide us with ways we can improve your experience with Contactually!

Now.....here's how it works.

Track ScaleMail with ease

ScaleMail is a batch email tool that allows you to send personalized, valuable emails to large numbers of people at once. You can send up to 50 contacts a ScaleMail at a time and 300 in a day. These emails send from your email server and appear in the recipient's inbox as if you sent them a one-to-one email.

With our latest update, you can see just how effective your outreach was through open, click, and reply tracking.

Plus, this information is now rolled into Activity Insights making Contactually reporting even more powerful and well more....insightful.

Track automated Program emails to scale your communication efforts

Have you ever crafted the most perfect follow-up email only to have it go unanswered? Me too. I mean, who hasn't, am I right?

Programs are a popular feature, available on our Professional Plan, that let you setup an automated sequence of actions to take with contacts over a period of time.

Let's say you meet someone at a networking event and want to make sure you follow up with them over a series of weeks. Simply place that special someone into a "Follow Up Program," which can be set up to send an email, remind you to follow up after a specific period of time, or even follow them on Twitter.

Well now, you can track emails in Programs in order to gauge the effectiveness of your automated emails!

Why Track?

You may be thinking, "Well, Brandon, all of this tracking stuff seems neat and all, but why is it important?"

Imagine a world where you can take a few seconds, a glance if you will, and get an idea if your communication efforts are effective.

This world now exists.

Get immediate insight on specific emails you send and instantly see which of the recipients took action under View Messages.


Furthermore, you're able to gauge your email effectiveness through the Insights feature and see open, click, and response rates over time for yourself and your team members.

As you use Contactually, you'll be able to identify what's wrong, what's working, and change what isn't working. Tracking will help you become more effective in communicating with your most important contacts.

Although ScaleMail and Programs are great tools for managing personal communications at scale, they may not be the right ones if you're trying to send newsletters or "broadcast" messages to more than 300 people. If you'd like to send newsletters to your database, we highly recommend MailChimp and Mad Mimi, two dedicated newsletter services that we integrate with directly.
