Contactually, a virtual assistant for your email, discovers opportunities in your inbox by proactively suggesting the next steps to take with your most important contacts. First, we connect your email and social media accounts to our system. Then, we analyze your conversation history for each relationship and automatically prompt you via a daily email reminder to reengage with the people that are slipping off of your radar. We also sync aggregated contact information from other systems already in your workflow, like CRM tools and campaign management software. This ensures that you always have the most relevant and complete information at hand for all of your contacts.
Most of your interactions with Contactually take place via our morning summary and evening wrap-up emails. The morning summary emails prompt you to follow up or take other actions with the contacts that are at risk of slipping off of your radar. You can also find these follow-up recommendations and action items on your Contactually Dashboard, located on our website. The evening wrap-up emails will prompt you to provide additional information about people you’ve recently contacted, such as the bucket in which you wish to place the contact or any other notes that you wish to add to their profile. You will occasionally receive other emails from us, such as notices of upcoming product changes and billing invoices.
The morning email summarizes all the actions you need to take that day with your contacts, in order of priority. These actions include both those that you have explicitly assigned to a contact, such as “Grab coffee with Tony on August 23rd,” as well as follow-up suggestions that we have inferred from your email history and preferences for each bucket of contacts. In addition, your morning email will also list a few existing contacts whose info you haven’t yet entered into Contactually. These aren’t new contacts, but are important existing relationships with whom you’ve recently interacted.
The evening wrap-up email provides a summary of all the new contacts you’ve communicated with over the course of a given day. Simply reply to this email with any relevant information that you know about your contacts, such as how you met and other notes providing you with a better context of your relationship, and we’ll automatically parse that information and add it to that contact’s profile. In addition, we’ll provide an update on your actions for the day and give you the chance to update your progress against those goals.
If you don’t want to receive any future emails, go to your settings page and uncheck “I want to receive Contactually emails.” So you know, you don’t need to take action on every email.
First, we take the privacy and security of your information very seriously. Any information you send to us is accessible to only a select few individuals, and all have signed NDAs (non-disclosure agreements). We process the emails you send to us to better understand the meaning if your data, and parse it accordingly.
We only actively process information you send to us. We do not process the content of any emails in your inbox.
For more information on privacy, please visit our privacy page.

Our premium plans start at $19.99 per user per month, and include the ability to link multiple email accounts, connect CRM systems such as Salesforce and Pipedrive, and much more.

No. We do not process the content of any emails in your inbox. We only process your email contacts, the timestamps and addressees of all sent and received emails, and any information you email Contactually. Additionally, if you choose to enable these features in your settings, Contactually will scrape your contacts' email signatures and automatically update their contact record, and will pull email subject lines to display in your conversation history.
In order to track when you email one of your contacts, our system must connect to your email account. This allows Contactually to populate your account with your existing contacts, as well as input your new contacts into our system.
For Gmail and Google Apps users, we have an easy signup flow, and we never see your password. For those email accounts that use IMAP or Microsoft Exchange servers, we store your password in a secure location, and permanently erase it if you should choose to delete your account.
By default, you should expect two emails from Contactually per day. You can change your email settings at any time on the settings page.
Contactually currently works with Gmail and Google Apps accounts, all IMAP email providers including Yahoo!, and AOL, and almost all Microsoft Exchange accounts. Contactually is not compatible with POP3 accounts (e.g. Hotmail) at this time, but we are actively working to provide support for these accounts.
Contactually is compatible with Outlook, provided that you use Outlook for an IMAP account. Please review our Outlook connection guide for more information on retrieving your email account information. We’re also building an Outlook plugin, much like the plugin that we have for Gmail -- stay tuned!
If you use Outlook to access your IMAP email, but are not sure of your email settings, please access our support document with step-by-step instructions here.
Please email support@contactually.com with the following info: your email address, email client (Gmail, Outlook, etc), and the date you signed up. We will get back to you within 24 hours to troubleshoot your problem. You can also click the “Chat with us!” icon at the bottom right of every page.
Contactually currently integrates with Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. We automatically link your contact’s social media accounts to his or her contact profile, and will record messages received and sent via these social media services as follow-ups.
Please note that Contactually only records messages sent via LinkedIn. Unfortunately, LinkedIn does not allow third party access to your LinkedIn mailbox, and as such we cannot track any messages that you receive on LinkedIn.
Contactually currently integrates with Salesforce, Highrise, Pipedrive, and SugarCRM. This includes all CRMs which are based on the Salesforce platform. We also integrate with MailChimp, an email marketing campaign system.
Contactually plans on adding additional CRMs such as Batchbook in the near future, so stay tuned!
